According to a military situation report, the suspect was picked up by troops of 1 Brigade in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) at Kucheri, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. She was found with ₦37,000, a mobile phone and other items, and reportedly admitted to drug peddling alongside supplying bandits.
Elsewhere, troops clashed with ISWAP and JAS fighters in Borno State, killing one insurgent around Kwatara Kasa Village, Gwoza–Limankara Road, while others fled into the Mandara Mountains.
In Adamawa, 232 Battalion troops intercepted two suspected petroleum smugglers with 19 jerrycans of fuel in Mubi South.
The crackdown also extended to the Federal Capital Territory where 176 Guards Battalion intercepted a stolen vehicle traced from Osun. The suspects fled but were later tracked to a Gwagwalada hotel, where three were arrested with 11 phones and ₦29,700.
In Plateau State, an informant led troops to an arms cache in Mista Ali Village, Bassa LGA, but attempted to escape and was neutralised. Two AK-47 rifles were recovered.
Army spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, said the operations show a clear intent to choke terrorist supply lines and deny criminals freedom of action.
