Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, is among the names being considered for the Nottingham Forest job following the dismissal of Nuno Espírito Santo.
TalkSPORT transfer insider Alex Crook revealed on X that Forest’s shortlist includes Mourinho, Ange Postecoglou, who recently left Tottenham Hotspur, and current Fulham boss Marco Silva.
Nuno was sacked late on Monday night, less than two weeks after Forest’s 3-0 home defeat to West Ham United.
Crook noted that while Mourinho remains an option, Forest’s hierarchy led by owner Evangelos Marinakis and sporting director Ross Wilson are said to prefer a manager with a more progressive style of football, which was a major concern during Nuno’s reign.
Postecoglou is believed to be one of the early frontrunners, while Silva is also highly admired.
Forest will be hoping that their next managerial appointment brings stability and fresh ideas to a team that has struggled for consistency this season.
The club’s hierarchy knows that the right choice could make the difference between mid-table security and another relegation battle.
Supporters are eagerly awaiting the decision, with speculation growing daily about who will step into the dugout at the City Ground.
Whoever takes the job will inherit both high expectations and the urgent task of reviving Forest’s Premier League campaign.
