The Police Command in Anambra state has declared that it has decorated 89 officers who were newly promoted.
The announcement which was made with a statement on Thursday, revealed that the new position of the officers is a significant milestone in their careers.

“The Anambra State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has decorated 89 newly-promoted Inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police in a colourful ceremony held at the Command Headquarters, Awka. The event, which was attended by senior officers of the Command, family members, and well-wishers, marked a significant milestone in the careers of the officers. In addition to their decoration, the officers were officially inducted into the Police Officers’ Mess, symbolising their transition into the Officer Cadre of the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement reads.
Ikenga also congratulated the officers on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, noting that their elevation is a reward of hard work.
“The CP represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department, Awka, DCP Mantu Chong mni, congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to see their elevation as both a reward for hard work and a call to greater responsibility. You must now justify the confidence reposed in you by ensuring effective service delivery and upholding the values of honesty, fairness, and accountability. You are urged to remain role models to your subordinates and to deepen collaboration with communities in tackling crime and sustaining peace in Anambra State,” he said.
