Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has revealed that her attempt to cook the world’s biggest pot of Nigerian jollof rice took several months of careful preparation.
Speaking after the meal was cooked at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Baci described the process as both stressful and rewarding.

“I am very happy with what we have achieved today. Honestly, figuring this whole thing out with Gino was hectic. It took me and Ayo two months to design and make the pot. Planning the entire event took about nine months, and cooking the meal itself took about nine hours,” she said.

The chef admitted that the challenge tested her both physically and mentally. “So many things happened, and my mind is still racing, but I’m happy we made it,” she added.

Baci explained that the idea was not originally about breaking a world record.

“When I first thought of this, I didn’t see it as a record attempt,” she said.
She went on to thank her friends, family, and fans for their support, dedicating the historic meal to them.

Baci, who gained international fame in 2023 after breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has continued to use her platform to promote Nigerian food.

Her latest achievement with jollof rice is being celebrated as both a cultural showcase and a symbol of determination.

Nigerians and food lovers around the world now await Guinness World Records’ official confirmation of the feat.
