Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
The record, confirmed on Monday by Guinness World Records, was achieved with a serving weighing 8,780 kilogrammes (19,356 lb 9 oz).
Baci accomplished the feat in partnership with food brand Gino during an event at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The attempt attracted a large crowd of supporters, celebrities, and food lovers.
Guinness World Records announced the confirmation in a post on X, writing:
“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria .”
Baci first came into the global spotlight in 2023 with her cook-a-thon that set another Guinness World Record.
With this achievement, she has once again put Nigerian cuisine on the international map.
