The Alumni Association of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has taken a bold step in giving back to its alma mater with the commencement of a landmark building project.
The initiative, which includes the construction of an Alumni Secretariat and a modern Student Affairs Office, was officially flagged off with a foundation-laying ceremony performed by the Rector, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, on Thursday, 18th September 2025.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Oluseye lauded the Alumni for their commitment to the development of OGITECH, describing the project as a legacy that will strengthen the institution’s structures and student support systems.
“This effort by our Alumni shows that OGITECH has raised men and women who are passionate about sustaining and improving the institution,” he said. “The Secretariat and Student Affairs Office will go a long way in fostering closer ties between the Alumni, the management, and our students.”
President of the Alumni Association, Mr. Sholotan Kazeem, explained that the initiative is not just for the benefit of the Alumni but also to support the welfare and growth of students.
“In building the Secretariat, we are creating a home for Alumni activities,” he noted. “At the same time, by providing a Student Affairs Office, we are investing directly in the welfare of our students and ensuring that OGITECH continues to thrive.”
The foundation laying ceremony was attended by members of the Alumni body, the school management, staff, and students, who all described the project as a milestone in OGITECH’s history and a clear demonstration of the Alumni’s dedication to their alma mater.
