Cardi B breaks silence on Illuminati claims, Nicki Minaj rivalry

Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has shut down a long-standing rumour that she entered the music industry as part of a plan to replace Nicki Minaj at the top of hip-hop.

Speaking on Wednesday’s episode of Call Her Daddy, Cardi insisted that her rise to fame was a result of destiny and hard work, not an orchestrated plot.

“I was destined for this,” she said, adding that no label signed her with the purpose of dethroning another artiste.

While she did not mention Nicki Minaj by name, her comments directly addressed the speculation that has trailed her career.

The rumour spread after a leaked clip of Ye surfaced, in which he claimed Cardi was “a plant by the Illuminati” created to replace Minaj. Since then, the theory has fueled fan debates and speculation about the rappers’ rivalry.

Cardi dismissed the narrative of hidden agendas, saying clashes in the industry can occur naturally. “Sometimes people just don’t get along with each other,” she explained, stressing that differences shouldn’t always be seen as sabotage.

Her rift with Nicki Minaj has been one of hip-hop’s most publicized rivalries, particularly in 2018 when their tension boiled over at New York Fashion Week, leading to a confrontation where Cardi infamously threw a shoe at Minaj.
