Hollywood actor Tim Allen has shared a deep reflection about his father’s death, revealing that he has battled for more than 60 years to forgive the man responsible.

Allen’s reflection came after Erika Kirk, wife of late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, delivered a powerful speech at her husband’s memorial service on September 10, 2025, following his fatal shooting during a lecture at Utah Valley University.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Tim Allen recalled how Erika’s words about forgiveness struck a chord with him.

“When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: That man… that young man… I forgive him. That moment deeply affected me. I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad.

I will say those words now as I type: I forgive the man who killed my father. Peace be with you all,” he wrote.

One user, Owen, described it as “so beautiful to read,” adding that true peace comes from Christ’s forgiveness.

Roberta commented that forgiveness “frees you from the weight left behind” and allows healing.

Donna Walker revealed that she too had struggled for over 40 years to forgive her grandmother’s killer, noting Allen’s words moved her to tears.

Another, Fjteal, admitted: “I wish I could forgive the man who killed my brother… Maybe one day I can be.”
