Police seal off Lagos hotel after arrest of 2 suspected armed robbers

Police operatives have arrested two suspected armed robbers at an hotel they are allegedly using as their hideout in Mushin area of Lagos State.
The arrest of the armed robbers, Lagos Police Command spokesperson said in a statement, followed the sighting of four suspected robbers around 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
She said while three of the suspects escaped, one of them a 21-year-old was apprehended.
Adebisi said search of the bag of the apprehended suspect uncovered a cut-to-size single-barrel gun, an English Barreter pistol with two live rounds, and another pistol with cartridges.
The suspect confessed the gang had just concluded a robbery in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun, and planned to regroup at the hotel in Mushin, Lagos.
She said acting on intelligence, operatives raided the hotel and recovered a laptop, charms, suspected Indian hemp, hard drugs, and other incriminating exhibits.
She added that another suspect, aged 33, was arrested at the scene with a locally fabricated pistol. The hideout has since been permanently sealed off.
The suspects and exhibits have been transferred to the Lagos Police command headquarters.
Efforts continue to track down fleeing gang members.
Lagos Commissioner of Police, Mr Olohundare Jimoh, commended the operatives for their professionalism during the operation.
