Senate begins New INEC Chairman screening

The Nigerian Senate has begun the screening exercise for President Bola Tinubu’s nominee for the position of the Chairman of the electoral commission.

Professor Joash Amupitan, SAN, was previously nominated by the president for the position of Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The screening exercise which began on Thursday, is to ensure that Amupitan is eligible and the best fit for the position.

He was joined by Ahmed Ododo, the governor of Kogi State and other dignitaries.
