VIDEO: Kunle Remi under fire for showing off wife’s underwear

Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has sparked controversy online after bringing his wife, Tiwi’s underwear, to the red carpet premiere of Daniel Etim-Effiong’s latest movie, The Herd, at IMAX Lekki, Lagos.

The event, which drew several top Nollywood stars, became a social media talking point after videos emerged of Kunle displaying what he described as a “symbolic token” from his wife.

Explaining the gesture, the actor said since his wife couldn’t attend the premiere, he decided to carry a personal item of hers as a sign of connection.

“Your wife could not be present physically, so she gave you a piece of herself. Randomly remembering how I started my morning,” Kunle wrote on Instagram.

Clips shared online showed the actor flaunting the underwear during the red carpet event, using it as a prop throughout his day, from breakfast to behind-the-scenes moments.

However, his action didn’t sit well with many Nigerians, who criticized the display as inappropriate and unsettling.

Tunde Adeyemi wrote: “I can’t believe this actually happened. I follow Kunle on Instagram, but this is taking things too far. It’s really embarrassing.”

Chinwe Okoro said: “There are some boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed in public. Bringing his wife’s underwear to a red carpet is beyond uncomfortable.”

Aisha Bello added: “This is disturbing. The red carpet is supposed to be about glamour, not intimate items. I feel bad for Tiwi.”

Emeka Nnaji commented: “I used to admire Kunle’s openness, but this crosses the line. Some things should remain private.”
