Nollywood actress, Regina Chukwu, has sent a strong message to men, warning that emotional and verbal abuse can cause lasting damage to a woman’s mental and emotional health, just as much as physical violence.
The actress made this known in a post shared on her Instagram page, where she expressed concern over how some men downplay the harm of verbal attacks in relationships.
According to Chukwu, while physical abuse may leave visible bruises, verbal assault inflicts silent wounds on a woman’s heart, confidence, and peace of mind, wounds that apologies cannot easily heal.
“Verbally abusing your woman is just as bad as hitting her, because those words echo in places no apology can reach. You might not leave marks on her skin, but you’ll leave damage on her heart, her confidence, and her peace. And once a woman’s peace is gone, you’ll never get the same version of her again,” she wrote.
