Nigerian singer and song-writer Korede Bello has opened up on the negative effects of poverty and how it limits one’s potential.
Korede, on his Instagram page, claimed that poverty limits people from being creative and innovative.
He added that poor people focus more on survival and providing what to eat, than exploring their thoughts and being creative.
“Think about this, right? Is Elon Musk going to be so concerned about space travel if his rent was due or if he didn’t know what he was going to eat tomorrow?,” he asked.
The singer further stated that life starts after one’s survival is not a burden. He added that success is mostly born out of curiosity and passion and not just survival.
“If money wasn’t an issue, what would you learn? What would you think about? Because the truth is, it’s a privilege to follow your curiosity when you’re not worried about surviving. When you stop surviving is when you start living. If you’re still surviving, you never get to live,” he added.
