The England international played a key role in Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Barcelona, assisting Kylian Mbappé’s opener before scoring the decisive goal that sealed all three points for Los Blancos.
However, after the final whistle, the 22-year-old was seen celebrating by grabbing his crotch and sticking out his tongue, a gesture identical to one that landed him in trouble with UEFA during Euro 2024.
At the time, Bellingham was fined £25,400 and handed a suspended one-match ban after making the same motion while celebrating his equaliser in England’s 2-1 win over Slovakia in the round of 16.
Defending his actions then, the midfielder described it as “an inside joke gesture towards some close friends who were at the game,” insisting he meant no disrespect to the opposition.
While that previous punishment was under UEFA’s jurisdiction, Sunday’s incident falls under LaLiga’s authority, meaning the Spanish football federation could decide whether to open disciplinary proceedings.
