Akpabio slams online report as fake
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has debunked a viral report credited to him by an online platform, Rant HQ, claiming that Nigerians are satisfied with the current state of the country despite ongoing killings.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio described the publication as a “total falsehood” and “a product of mischief” aimed at creating tension between him and U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as straining Nigeria’s relationship with international partners.
He challenged the publishers to present evidence to support their claims, describing the report as “digital recklessness” and an attempt to incite public misunderstanding and diplomatic discord.
The Senate President urged Nigerians to disregard the fake report and cautioned purveyors of misinformation to desist from spreading fabricated and unverified stories for cheap attention.
