South Sudanese-American model Anok Yai, has been announced as the model of the year for the 2025 edition of the Fashion Awards.
The announcement was made by the British Fashion Council on Wednesday via their official Instagram page.
They explained that the announcement was done a month before fashion awards ceremony to honor the individuals selected.
“#ANOKYAI TO BE HONOURED AS #MODELOFTHEYEAR AT #TFA 2025. A defining force in today’s fashion landscape, Anok’s impact transcends the runway – from redefining beauty standards to championing artistry and representation on a global stage. Her influence continues to shape culture and inspire the next generation,” they wrote.
Anok Yai is knoan as the second Black supermodel after Naomi Campbell to open a Prada show. She has also made stunning appearances on Vogue covers.
