Osun governor, Ademola Adeleke has denied report that he was planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Mallam Rasheed Olawale, spokesperson to the Governor said this in a statement on Thursday evening.

The statement was issued in reaction to reports that the chairman of All Progressives Congress in Osun has confirmed that Adeleke is negotiating with Rauf Aregbesola, the secretary of ADC to join the party.

But the state government in the statement categorically denied that Adeleke is negotiating with Aregbesola who is also a former governor of the state or planning to join the ADC.

“The report is false and the entire assertions by the opposition are mere fabrication and fake news,” the state government said in the statement.

The statement reads “Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the Osun State APC chairman that Governor Ademola Adeleke is negotiating with former Governor Rauf Aregbesola about joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“The report is false and the entire assertions by the opposition are mere fabrication and fake news.

“Governor Adeleke is not negotiating with former Governor Aregbesola about ADC and the governor is not joining ADC.

“The members of the public are hereby implored to ignore the fake news from the pit of hell.
