Nestoil Limited has dismissed recent online reports making the rounds on certain digital platforms, describing them as misleading and inaccurate representations of the company and its operations.
In a statement issued through its Corporate Communications Department, the indigenous oil and gas firm reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to integrity, due process, and the rule of law, noting that its corporate values remain rooted in transparency and accountability.
According to the statement, Nestoil operates in full compliance with regulatory standards and has never engaged in any conduct capable of undermining the justice system or compromising ethical business principles.
“At no point has Nestoil acted contrary to the law or attempted to influence any judicial process. The company’s business practices have always been guided by honesty, professionalism, and respect for due process,” the statement read.
The company clarified that certain publications had misrepresented details of ongoing legal proceedings involving entities associated with First Bank of Nigeria (FBN). It explained that the matters in question are currently before the court and that all parties will have the opportunity to present their positions in line with the judicial process.
Nestoil noted that while an ex-parte order was obtained by the said entities, such orders are interim in nature and meant to preserve the status quo pending the hearing of all sides. It emphasized that it remains confident in the fairness and integrity of the Nigerian judicial system to resolve the issues in accordance with the law.
“We are fully committed to the rule of law and trust that the courts will handle the matter with fairness and transparency,” the company stated.
The oil and gas firm also cautioned the public and media practitioners against relying on unverified information from anonymous or unofficial sources, noting that such reports could mislead the public and distort ongoing legal processes.
“We urge all stakeholders to rely on verified, credible information from recognized sources to avoid the dangers of misinformation,” it said.
Reaffirming its reputation as a responsible corporate citizen, Nestoil stated that it would continue to operate with the highest ethical standards, maintaining its focus on excellence, community development, and adherence to national and international regulations.
“Nestoil remains committed to ethical business practices, transparency, and respect for the rule of law. Our values remain unchanged as we continue to contribute positively to Nigeria’s oil and gas sector,” the statement concluded.
