The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port Harcourt Area I Command, has achieved an outstanding revenue performance, collecting ₦247.46 billion between January and October 2025, well above its annual target of ₦216 billion.
Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku, who leads the Command, confirmed the figures in a statement issued at the weekend. She revealed that the amount represents a 51 per cent rise compared with the ₦164.08 billion generated in the same period of 2024.
“At ten months into the year, the Command has already surpassed its annual goal by more than ₦31 billion,” Atuluku said. “With the last two months still ahead, we are confident of closing the year on an even stronger note.”
According to her, October 2025 set a new record as the Command’s best-performing month ever, bringing in ₦33.75 billion. This figure marks a dramatic increase of about 272 per cent over the ₦9.08 billion recorded in October 2024.
Atuluku attributed the growth to improved operational efficiency, stronger inter-agency collaboration, and the effective use of technology. “Our success stems from teamwork, innovation, and a shared commitment to promoting lawful trade while curbing revenue leakages,” she noted.
She further credited the Unified Customs Management System (Bodogwu) for enhancing digital monitoring and transparency in revenue administration. “The platform has made data management more accurate, streamlined processes, and provided real-time accountability, aligning with our push for efficiency,” she explained.
The Controller also emphasised ongoing cooperation with other government bodies to ensure smooth operations at the port, reduce disputes, and encourage voluntary compliance among traders.
Commending her officers and men, Atuluku said they had displayed “exceptional dedication and adaptability” despite operational difficulties.
