Senator Ned Nwoko, the husband of estranged Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has responded to ongoing allegations and social media uproar surrounding their troubled marriage, declaring that Regina “has nothing incriminating” against him.
In a statement released by his Communication and Technical Action Team in Abuja on Monday, the Delta North Senator addressed multiple claims circulating online, describing them as false, malicious, and politically motivated attempts to tarnish his image.
“Beyond this, the talk about me grabbing land in my hometown is false and unfortunate,” Nwoko stated.
“I was allocated a piece of land for which I made a genuine offer of payment to establish the University of Sports, a project that exists today and serves the community.”
He emphasized that certain individuals had been exploiting Regina’s current state to smear his name, adding that many of the defamatory statements being spread would soon attract legal consequences.
“If by now she has not brought up any credible allegation against me, it means there is nothing illegal about me — except that I want her to seek help for rehabilitation,” he said.
Nwoko alleged that Regina had a long-standing history of substance use, claiming her medical records and testimonies from former schoolmates could confirm it.
“Her medical records are verifiable. She openly admitted to using drugs and said she was on bipolar medication,” he noted. “If she had any secrets to reveal, she would have done so. She has nothing.”
The Senator further clarified the timeline of his marriage to Regina, insisting that she was 19 years old, not 17, at the time of their wedding.
“Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000. If she has been married for six years, that means she got married at 19, not 17,” he said.
He maintained that their union followed traditional customs, describing it as “honourable and transparent.”
“I married her properly, gave her a name, and treated her with dignity. It is disheartening to read all this filth online,” he lamented.
“Regina has become the weak point through which my political and personal enemies attack me. This is a witch-hunt to damage my reputation and my work as a Senator.”
