President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Minister of Environment, Mallam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, on the passing of his mother, Hajiya Dayyabatu Lawal, on Sunday, 9 November 2025.

This was contained in a statement by Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy).

The statement said, “The President describes Hajiya Dayyabatu as a devout, kind-hearted, and selfless woman who dedicated her life to serving God, the well-being of her family, and the upliftment of her community.

“President Tinubu notes that the values of integrity, humility, and compassion that have come to define Mallam Balarabe Abbas Lawal’s public service are clear reflections of the upbringing and guidance of his late mother.

“While commiserating with the Minister, his family, and the people of Kaduna State, the President prays that Almighty Allah will grant the departed a place in Jannah and give her loved ones the strength to bear the loss.

“The President urges the Minister and his family to find comfort in the enduring legacy of faith, love, and service that Hajiya Dayyabatu left behind.”
