Indian authorities have deported a Nigerian man, Onyeukwu Victor, for overstaying his visa and allegedly taking part in drug distribution.
According to The Times of India, Victor was deported by Hyderabad police on Wednesday.
The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing said he arrived in India on a student visa in 2021 but remained in the country after the visa expired in 2024.
Officials said Victor later made contact with drug suppliers and helped deliver substances to customers in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
“While he was moving around in Banjara Hills, we apprehended him. No drugs were found on him, but during questioning he could not provide valid documents or explain why he was still in Hyderabad.
“Further checks confirmed he no longer had a valid visa and had been overstaying,” the report said.
