Tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deepened on Monday as the faction aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, moved to convene emergency meetings of two of the party’s most influential organs.

In a notice circulated by the group’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and amplified online by Lere Olayinka, media aide to the FCT Minister, the faction declared that both the Board of Trustees (BoT) and the National Executive Committee (NEC) would meet on Tuesday, 18 November, at the PDP’s national headquarters, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

According to the announcement, the BoT session is expected to begin at 11:00 a.m., with the NEC meeting slated for 2:00 p.m. The statement emphasised that members’ presence was “critical”, noting that pressing issues concerning the party’s direction would be on the agenda.

Already,  sevearal topshots in Wike’s camp, including the FCT Minister himself, Samuel Anyanwu, Ayodele Fayose.
