Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has got good dance steps, but beyond the rhythm and charisma lies a man with many giant strides, a leader whose governance style has steadily silenced critics and impressed admirers.

A man with workings, he has become, to many residents, the perfect definition of a leader who has delivered on virtually all his campaign promises.

That image was reinforced recently in Osogbo when the governor unveiled a wide range of instructional materials and mobility equipment for public primary and junior secondary schools across the state.

The items procured through the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board included interactive electronic boards, mathematics teaching kits, solar panels, thousands of exercise books, computer systems, and vehicles for school monitoring. This initiative was another demonstration of the administration’s commitment to rebuilding the educational foundation of the state.

But Adeleke’s development push is not limited to education. At various public engagements, he has consistently emphasized infrastructure renewal, transparency in governance, and policies aimed at improving ease of doing business in Osun.

At the recently held Osun State Dinner and Industrial Investment Roundtable, the governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, reiterated that his administration is determined to attract investors by creating a friendly environment for agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, technology, and renewable energy.

This commitment was further underlined when Adeleke presented the N705.7 billion Budget of Economic Transformation to the Osun State House of Assembly. He described the budget as a visionary blueprint for sustainable growth, anchored on the Osun State Development Plan 2023 to 2050.

With 55 percent of the budget dedicated to capital expenditure, the governor pledged to complete all ongoing projects and initiate new ones where necessary, stressing that his vision is rooted in a diversified and resilient economy.

Across the state, many residents say the results are becoming increasingly visible.

Mrs. Adetutu Ojo, a resident of Osogbo, praised the governor’s performance.

“He did not just come to dance, he came to work,” she said. “The roads he has fixed, the jobs he has created, and the way he has redefined governance are all things we can see and feel.”

In Ilesa, Mr. Lanre Kazeem shared a similar sentiment.

“Governor Adeleke has made so much difference in a short time,” he noted. “His projects, his accessibility, and the speed of work across the state show that he understands what the people need.”

For Mr. Jericho, a pastor in the C and S Church in Ede, Adeleke has become a symbol of both energy and effectiveness.

“He is the dancing governor we all love,” he said, “but now he is also the performing governor. He has surprised many of us with how much he has achieved.”

Yet not all feedback is glowing. While acknowledging progress, some residents expressed concerns about the healthcare sector.

They appealed to the governor to address what they described as the high cost of medicines in government hospitals, urging him to bring the same zeal seen in infrastructure and education to public healthcare.

Still, the general consensus across communities is that Osun is experiencing a new pace of development, driven by a governor whose style blends showmanship with substance.

Adeleke’s dance steps may continue to define his public image, but it is his strides in governance that are shaping Osun’s present and future.

In the evolving story of the state, the dancing governor appears determined to keep the music playing and the progress unfolding.
