AY’s remarks come on the heels of multiple disturbing incidents, including the abduction of schoolchildren, attacks on worship centres, and the killing of senior military officers, among them a Brigadier General.

Nigerian comedian and filmmaker, AY Makun, has raised serious concerns over the escalating insecurity across the country, describing Nigeria as “a crime scene” amid persistent kidnappings, killings, and terrorist attacks.

AY’s remarks come on the heels of multiple disturbing incidents, including the abduction of schoolchildren, attacks on worship centres, and the killing of senior military officers, among them a Brigadier General.

In a post shared on social media, AY lamented that bandits now invade churches to kill and abduct worshippers, while schoolchildren are taken directly from classrooms with little resistance. He questioned how Nigeria deteriorated to this level of lawlessness and why those in authority have failed to take decisive action.

The comedian wondered aloud if the country would eventually require external intervention before the crisis is brought under control, noting that leaders appear unresponsive despite the increasing wave of violence.

AY concluded by calling for urgent accountability, security reforms, and meaningful intervention to protect the lives of citizens and restore order.
