‘I’m sick and tired of this’- US official on 300 students kidnapped in Niger

"This is just as a father. I am sick and tired of doing interviews like this. More kids are getting kidnapped. More Christians are being killed."
Riley Moore, a senior US official, has once again, expressed deep frustration over the rising wave of kidnappings and attacks targeting children and Christians in Nigeria.
In an interview with Fox News, Moore reacted to the abduction of more than 300 students and 12 teachers from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Niger State, saying:
“This is just as a father. I am sick and tired of doing interviews like this. More kids are getting kidnapped. More Christians are being killed.”
Moore said he believes the attacks were carried out by Fulani militants, who he said have also been responsible for previous church attacks in the Middle Belt.
“It is illegal to own firearms,” he said, “but somehow these nomads can just continue attacking and terrorizing communities.”
The US official said a recent meeting with a Nigerian government delegation was positive. Programmes were discussed to partner with authorities to curb the killings. Plans also include working to disarm the Fulani militants, Moore added.
He stressed the human cost of inaction.
“As a father, seeing these attacks makes my stomach turn. The Nigerian government must disarm the radical Muslim Fulani militants terrorizing the Middle Belt.”
