VIDEO: Daniel Etim Effiong under fire over trending kissing video

Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong has come under intense criticism on social media after a passionate kissing scene between him and actress Bolaji Ogunmola surfaced online.

The viral clip, originally shared by a fan who praised their “unmatched on-screen chemistry,” quickly ignited a heated debate about marriage, boundaries, and the demands of Nollywood romance roles.

While the poster had insisted that “no one in Nollywood kisses better than these two,” the comments that followed took a different direction entirely.

Some viewers accused Etim of taking on “too many” romantic roles despite being a married man.
One user wrote:

“This guy is becoming annoying at this point. Why is a married man always in these romantic movies?”

Another commenter went further, suggesting Etim’s wife had “valid reasons to crash out,” arguing that no spouse would feel comfortable watching their partner engage in such intense kissing on camera.

However, several users defended the actor, pointing out that acting is a profession that often requires such scenes.

One person wrote:

“You people know this kiss is strictly between the characters, right? It’s called acting for a reason.”

Despite the attempts to defend him, many Nigerians continued to mock and criticize the actor, with some joking that they could “never marry an actor or actress” because watching their partner “twist tongue in the name of acting” would be unbearable.
