Manchester United came from behind on Sunday to seal a rare victory at Selhurst Park, defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 in a hard-fought Premier League clash.

Palace had dominated the first half and took the lead through Jean-Philippe Mateta, who scored from a twice-taken penalty after a new rule allowed him to retake the kick. United had not won at Selhurst Park since 2020, and had failed to score there since January 2023.

But the visitors turned the game around in the second half.

Joshua Zirkzee, under pressure after recent poor performances, smashed in the equaliser nine minutes after the restart — his first league goal in a year. Mason Mount then completed the comeback in the 63rd minute, drilling Bruno Fernandes’ short free-kick into the bottom corner past Dean Henderson.

The win lifts United back into the Premier League’s top six and ends a three-match winless run. Palace, who would have moved into the top four with a victory, were left frustrated despite a strong first-half showing.
