Popular Nigerian rapper and activist, Eedris Abdulkareem, has revealed that his Facebook and Instagram accounts have been suspended.

He said the suspension happened shortly after he released his new song, “Open Letter to Donald Trump.” Abdulkareem explained on Sunday that he has been unable to log into both accounts since the song was released.

Checks also confirmed that the pages are no longer accessible. He did not say how long the suspension might last or whether Meta gave him any warning.

The song, released in November 2025 under Lakreem Entertainment, talks about corruption, insecurity and bad leadership in Nigeria. Although addressed to the US president, it mainly criticises Nigerian leaders for living comfortably while citizens suffer.

Abdulkareem also highlighted rising kidnappings, killings and other crimes that make people feel unsafe. By mentioning Donald Trump, he aimed to draw international attention to the hardship faced by Nigerians.

The new track continues his history of using music to challenge those in power, similar to his earlier hit “Jaga Jaga,” which criticised corruption and poor governance.

In April 2025, the National Broadcasting Commission banned his song “Tell Your Papa” from radio and TV, saying it violated broadcast rules. Earlier, in 2004, “Jaga Jaga” was also banned during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.
