General Christopher Musa

Activist Verydarkman has revealed a private encounter with former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, following reports that President Bola Tinubu has nominated Musa as the new Minister of Defence.

According to Verydarkman, on June 19, he was informed that the Army was looking for him. Initially alarmed, he agreed to meet, reasoning that if anyone intended him harm, it would have already happened.

He was driven to Asokoro and taken into a military base, where he was surprised to see General Musa, the same man he had previously criticized online. Musa dismissed everyone else and asked to speak with Verydarkman privately.

The activist said the General directly told him, “I need your help.” Musa requested detailed information about what Verydarkman had observed during his visit to Yelwata, highlighting that he had been the first person with a camera to go there when others were too afraid.

After listening to his account, Musa thanked him and asked that he continue sharing any further intelligence, before taking a photograph together on June 20, 2025.

Verydarkman explained that he chose to go public with the encounter because, despite Musa’s removal as Chief of Defence Staff, he believed the General was genuinely searching for solutions. He noted that Musa’s humility in seeking information “from anywhere, without pride” impressed him.

“When the door opened, I saw Christopher Musa, the same man I had blasted online,” Verydarkman said, adding that the General’s willingness to listen to him showed a rare openness and determination to understand ongoing conflicts, particularly those involving Fulani groups.
