Man Nabbed With Arms, Airforce Uniforms

The police in Area ‘H’ Command, Ogudu, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have arrested a robbery suspect at Ojota during a stop and search operation.

The suspect identified as Ayoade Faride was said to have been driving a Toyota Tacona pickup van marked DR434APP when he was flagged down by the police. According to the police, when the vehicle was searched, a pair of Nigeria Air force uniforms and two tear gas canisters were discovered.

P.M.NEWS learnt that during interrogation, the man could not give an account of the items and was, therefore, arrested and taken to the police station for further interrogation.

Our police said that when the suspect’s house at 32, Adewatu Street, Egbeda was searched, two revolver pistols, 88 rounds of 9mm live ammunition, 25 live cartridges and two military camouflage face caps.

The suspect was later transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, the Lagos State Police image maker, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, warned criminals in the state to desist from criminal activities as the police is battle ready to deal with them.

“I am advising criminals in the state to look for good jobs to do rather than involve in criminal activities because anyone caught will be severally dealt with as the police is battle ready for them.”

In another development, the police in Ketu Police Station, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, are trying to unravel the circumstances leading to the fire that razed buildings in Ketu market.

According to the police, the cause of the fire still remains a mystery as most parts of the shanty buildings were consumed by the fire before the arrival of the police and fire fighters.

P.M.NEWS learnt that no life was lost and the value of the properties destroyed is yet to be ascertain.
