President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated new candidates as non-career ambassadors to the Nigerian Senate. Among the nominees are ex-rivers administrators, Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, a former senator- Ita Enang, former Imo State first lady- Chioma Ohakim, and former minister of interior and ex-Chief of Army Staff, Abdulrahman Dambazau, and a few others.
This nomination comes shortly after Tinubu nominated Reno Omokri, Mahmoud Yakubu and other candidates as consideration for ambassadors.
Tinubi, in his letter to the Senate, urged them to act swiftly with their consideration. The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio referred the list to the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs. He urged them to screen the nominees and give a report in the next seven days.
