Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has finally addressed the growing drama involving his marriage to his wife, Natasha, and the role of his family in the crisis.
The sensational controversy, which has dominated social media for days, reportedly kicked off in the United Kingdom after a heated argument between the couple. Natasha was allegedly heard raising her voice at the singer, attracting public concern.
The situation, according to circulating reports, drew the attention of UK authorities and briefly led to 2Baba’s arrest before he was released.
Matters escalated during an Instagram Live session with media personality Daddy Freeze, where 2Baba and Natasha exchanged words openly. The intense confrontation left viewers stunned and fuelled online speculation about the state of their marriage.
Fans have since expressed fears over the singer’s emotional well-being, especially as viral clips painted a picture of deeper trouble behind closed doors.
The conversation intensified after 2Baba’s brother, Hyacinth Idibia, posted a message online that many interpreted as a sign that the family had stepped in and was deeply worried about what was unfolding.
However, breaking his silence on social media, 2Baba pushed back strongly, accusing certain family members of worsening his situation while pretending to rescue him.
In a viral video, he said:
“This whole thing has gotten dangerously out of hand. I am not just going to be quiet anymore. I feel I have to say some facts here. I am a grown man, and believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with. My family has in the pretext of trying to save me has actually destroyed me, and has killed someone’s daughter’s character. Natasha is getting death threats right now,” 2Baba stated.
The singer stressed that every marriage experiences conflict but insisted his was being exaggerated by external interference.
“Fine, we have had our quarrels, but who doesn’t quarrel with their spouses. This is getting out of hand, I am perfectly okay. Everyone has been seeing me out there, I did my show recently in Abuja, and a lot of people were there. How do you say you want to save me but you are messing the whole thing up. This is unacceptable. It is so unfair.
“I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with. I am not a child. I have always been a quiet, peaceful person, but this has become too much. My family did this with Annie, this same thing, we all have our differences, but this is becoming so dangerous right now.”
