Police charge two elders for breaking into late Lanre Razak’s Block Industry

Two elders from the Epe community, 63-year-old Musbau Oloruntoyin Amsdau and 45-year-old Fuad Adebayo Amuni, have been arrested and arraigned for allegedly vandalising and stealing property belonging to the late Lagos politician, Lanre Razak.

The suspects were picked up by operatives of the Zone 2 Police Command following a petition from the Razak family.

According to the police, the men allegedly broke into Kim Block Industry in Ebute Afuye, Epe, owned by Razak on 7 September 2025, maliciously damaged the facility’s main gate and stole iron rods and other materials valued at N5 million.

After an investigation by the Oracle Unit of the Command, the defendants were charged before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court sitting at the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court on a three-count charge of conspiracy, malicious damage and stealing.

Police prosecutor ASP Jimoh Joseph told the court that the alleged offences took place at Ogunude Street, near Oluwa Market in Epe, and were committed “without any lawful justification.”

He added that the charges were brought under Sections 411, 350 and 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate A.O. Alogba granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties in like sum, and ordered their remand at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of the bail conditions.

The case was adjourned to 16 December 2025 for mention.
