Ifelodun Not Disgraced At Speaker’s Cup

Shuaib Fatai Ajidagba is the new elected chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area. The council boss speaks with SUNDAY AKINTOYE on the performance of Ifelodun football team in the Lagos Speaker’s Cup and the ongoing Lagos Junior League

Sir, your council lost 1-2 to Ikorodu West in the semi final of Lagos Speaker’s Cup played on Tuesday, how did you feel about the defeat?
Of course I was sad. I was planning a big package for the team  before they lost to Ikorodu West in the semi final.

Were you really disappointed that the team crashed out of the tourney ?
I am not really disappointed because many councils in Lagos took part in the championship but  crashed out in the first round.

We thank God that we were not disgraced out of the competition.

Your team are still playing Junior League, are you impressed with their performance in the championship?
Of course, yes. The reports I received from the team officials is  impressive. So I will continue to give my best to support the team till the end of the Junior League.

What are the sports programmes you have lined up for the youth?
I have a lot of sports programmes for  my council. Don’t forget that I am newly elected  into the office  but I have assured the youth that all my electoral promises as regards sports will be fulfilled in due course.

I have formed a football team  that represented the council in Speaker’s Cup. They are still playing in the  Lagos Junior League.

I am planning to organise monthly sports programmes for  the youth which will be fully kicked off by next year
