The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has started online registration of its party members. The party leaders said this new system will help them have correct records of members and improve how the party operates.
Speaking at the training programme for those who will handle the registration, held at the APC Secretariat in Ado Ekiti, the state chairman, Sola Elesin, said President Bola Tinubu is focused on improving Nigeria’s economy and security. He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful.
Elesin explained that the online registration is important for the party’s future, especially because the last election showed that many registered members did not vote.
According to him, before the 2023 presidential election, the party expected 50 million members to vote, but only about 11 million actually voted. He said this shows the records were not accurate.
He added that the APC decided to start digital registration so they will have exact information about their members, which will help planning and decision-making.
A former party chairman, Chief Jide Awe, warned against registering people through representatives, asking those involved to follow due process honestly.

Adesola Gold Adedayo, the coordinator of the registration exercise and now a commissioner-designate, said the programme will make membership records transparent, help planning, and make it easier for the party to share benefits fairly among members.
