Osun leads nationwide voter registration with 208,000 new sign-ups

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday released fresh data from the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), showing that more than 2.68 million Nigerians have so far completed their voter registration across the country.
In the latest breakdown shared on the commission’s X account, INEC confirmed that 1,576,137 people successfully completed their online pre-registration, while 1,109,588 others finalised the process through physical registration at designated centres nationwide.
The new figures place Osun State at the forefront of the exercise, retaining its position as the state with the highest number of newly registered voters. Osun has now recorded 208,357 registrations, placing it ahead of Kano (159,669) and Sokoto (152,650).
Other states with high turnout include Imo (145,561), Borno (123,835), Lagos (123,484) and Jigawa (116,246).
The Federal Capital Territory also featured prominently with 106,855 new registrations, followed by Kogi (103,750) and Zamfara (101,511). Katsina posted 98,968, while Delta, Kaduna, Ogun, Kebbi, Niger, Oyo, Akwa Ibom and Rivers all recorded substantial numbers.
States with lower figures include Enugu (19,275), Ondo (17,542), Cross River (16,822) and Abia (16,691).
INEC recently reminded Nigerians that the first quarter of the nationwide CVR exercise will conclude on 10 December 2025.
