Nigerian singer and producer John Saviours Udomboso, popularly known as Young John, has issued a stern warning to critics who have been belittling his musical growth, insisting that his journey in the industry deserves respect.
The hitmaker took to his X page after facing a wave of negative comments, with some social media users accusing him of releasing “monotonous” music.
Reacting, the producer-turned-singer urged those who don’t enjoy his sound to simply move on rather than belittle the effort he has put into his craft.
He wrote:
“If you’re not a fan of my work, leave it at that! Don’t come here and water down my years of hard work!”
Young John began his music career over a decade ago, rising to fame in 2010 as one of the most influential producers in Nigeria. He became widely recognized during his time with Olamide’s YBNL, producing several hit tracks.
In 2022, he transitioned fully into singing after signing with Chocolate City, releasing the hit single Dada, which later received a massive boost with a remix featuring Davido.
