Ondo governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has said the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 should be a collective priority for members of All Progressives Congress, APC in the state.

“We must all work together to deliver Ondo State for President Tinubu in 2027,” Aiyedatiwa said while addressing party leaders at the quarterly stakeholders’ meeting of APC.

The Governor also warned members of the party members to remain united as political activities increase, warning against divisions caused by personal interests.

He urged members not to undermine the party leadership or fellow members while supporting any aspirant.

Aiyedatiwa added that the quarterly stakeholders’ meeting is to strengthen interaction and feedback within the party and also helped to assess developments in the party and the state.

The governor said his administration had intensified efforts in improving the health sector, noting that several health facilities were being renovated including the provision of standby ambulances to local government areas.

He said developmental projects of the administration were designed to cut across all the local government areas to ensure balanced growth.

Aiyedatiwa also disclosed that the Federal Government had approved the revalidation of the state’s deep seaport licence.

He said the step became necessary due to errors in the earlier registration, which did not properly reflect the name of the state.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Party, Ade Adetimehin, represented by the Vice Chairman Atili Agabra said the meeting would allow members to interact with the governor.

He praised the government for the employment of youths into various ministries in the state, adding that the governor had held meetings with different organs of the party which was unprecedented in the state.

Also, the National Vice Chairman (South-West) of APC, Isaac Kekemeke, reiterated that the governor is the leader of the party in the state.

Kekemeke noted that although other leaders also exist, Aiyedatiwa is the chief campaigner for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid.

He added that the President had confidence in the governors at the sub-national level, describing Aiyedatiwa as “the chief Tinubu loyalist in the state.”

He said the challenge facing the party was that most negative reports about the government were from within, adding that the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party were no longer posing threats in the state.

Kekemeke urged the governor, as the leader and father of the party, to accommodate all interests and unite members.
