Obi Cubana, the popular socialite and businessman, has opened up about a difficult time when his wife nearly lost her life and shocking rumors spread about him.

In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Cubana said the troubles began after his wife gave birth to their son, Alex, on Valentine’s Day. A few months later, she started feeling numb in her arm. At first, they managed it while he continued building his business, Cubana.

But her condition quickly got worse. On the day they were supposed to check out from their hotel in Abuja, she collapsed. Doctors discovered she had a cyst and advised immediate treatment abroad.

Cubana said he and his family flew her to South Africa for care. “At some point, she became half-paralyzed. It was terrifying,” he recalled.

It was during this crisis that a friend called him with a shocking claim: people were saying that Obi wanted to use his wife for rituals. “It came from my friends, but it did not distract me. My only focus was making sure my wife got better,” he said.

Her treatment continued, and when she was discharged, she had to use a wheelchair. A doctor told Cubana: “Your wife will not die, but she may never walk again, and she may never have another child.”

Reflecting on the ordeal, Obi Cubana said: “When people see my wife and me today, they don’t know what we have been through.”

The socialite said the experience changed his life and business priorities.
