The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, (SAN), has urged Christians to recommit to nurturing knowledge, compassion and progress within the University community and beyond.

Egbewole made the call in a statement signed by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun.

The VC urged Christians to reflect on the timeless lessons of Christmas, as it promotes hope and fosters the spirit of generosity and togetherness.

He assured that the management would continue to treat members of the University community and the public, with respect and fairness, regardless of religious affiliation.

The VC assured members of the University, of his commitment to their welfare and well being. Egbewole noted that Christmas called for merriment and gratitude to God Almighty for his boundless mercies to all. He urged that in the spirit of the season, Christians must endeavour to be Christlike in the totality of their lives.

The VC congratulated Christians both in the institution and around the world.

“I thank the members of staff and students of the University for their hard work and commitment to the University.

He wished them a joyous Christmas and a New Year filled with purpose and achievements.
