Chinua Soludo, son of Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has brought Christmas cheer to dozens of families after settling hospital bills for patients across three local government areas of the state.

On Thursday, Chinua paid unscheduled visits to hospitals in Anaocha, Idemili South and Aguata LGAs, where he cleared outstanding medical bills and provided transportation support to help beneficiaries return home to celebrate the season with their loved ones.

The outreach, which began at St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu (Anaocha LGA), moved through Nnobi General Hospital (Idemili South LGA) and concluded at Ekwulobia General Hospital (Aguata LGA). The gesture drew emotional reactions from patients and relatives, with several moved to tears by the show of compassion.

Speaking during the visits, Chinua urged Nigerians to extend love and kindness to the less-privileged, particularly those receiving care in hospitals, noting that such acts give hope and a sense of belonging.

“Christmas is a period to generate happiness and spread love, especially to the less-privileged and those in hospitals who need assistance,” he said. “For me, Christmas means reaching out to the needy, the less-privileged, motherless and abandoned children. They need our care and special expression of love to partake in the celebrations.”

At St. Joseph Hospital, he cleared the bills of more than five patients and added transport fares to ensure smooth journeys home. One beneficiary, who had been detained after discharge over an unpaid bill, had a debt of ₦933,500 fully settled and received transport support.

In Nnobi, a patient treated for acute malaria had a bill exceeding ₦120,000 cleared, while at Ekwulobia General Hospital, nearly 10 women benefited from bill payments and transportation assistance.

This is not Chinua Soludo’s first Christmas outreach. Around the same period last year, he visited the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Awka, where he similarly paid the bills of numerous patients.
