“On 26th December 2025, the Command received a complaint from Emmanuel Daniel, a resident of Sagal Village, who reported that he was threatened with kidnapping by two individuals,” the statement said.

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended two men suspected to be behind kidnapping threats in Sarau Belel community, Maiha Local Government Area.

The arrest followed a complaint lodged by a resident, Emmanuel Daniel, who reported that he was being threatened by individuals claiming involvement in a previous abduction. The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje.

“On 26th December 2025, the Command received a complaint from Emmanuel Daniel, a resident of Sagal Village, who reported that he was threatened with kidnapping by two individuals,” the statement said.

According to the police, the suspects allegedly claimed responsibility for the abduction of Daniel’s younger brother, Joshua Daniel, who was kidnapped in November 2024.

Acting on the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, ordered an immediate response, deploying the Divisional Police Officer in Sarau Belel and other operatives for a coordinated operation.

This led to the arrest of “Sunday Yakubu, 36, and Daniel Yakubu, 38, both residents of Konjoli Village, Maiha LGA.”

The command disclosed that “during the investigation, the suspects confessed to the allegations and are currently aiding the command with useful information.”

CP Morris has directed the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the case to ensure a detailed investigation and prosecution in line with the law.

The police reassured residents of their resolve to safeguard lives and property, urging the public to continue sharing credible and timely information.
