Katsina State Governor and Chairman of the North-West Governors’ Forum, Malam Dikko Radda, has expressed deep sorrow over the attack on worshippers at a mosque in Borno State.

Katsina State Governor and Chairman of the North-West Governors’ Forum, Malam Dikko Radda, has expressed deep sorrow over the attack on worshippers at a mosque in Borno State.

Radda described the incident as a cruel and senseless act against innocent citizens who were engaged in worship, stressing that places of prayer should never be targets of violence.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor said the attack led to the loss of lives and left several others injured, plunging families and communities into mourning.

According to him, every life lost represents a grieving family and a traumatised community.

Radda noted that mosques, churches and other places of worship must remain sanctuaries of peace and reflection, adding that acts of violence of such nature are unacceptable.

He said the attack highlights the need for sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism across the country.

The governor urged security agencies to intensify operations, strengthen intelligence gathering and ensure that those responsible for the attack are brought to justice.

He also called on Nigerians to remain united, vigilant and supportive of security efforts, stressing that national unity is vital in confronting insecurity.

Radda reaffirmed the commitment of Northern governors to continue working with the Federal Government to improve security and protect lives and property.

He extended condolences to Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, the government and people of the state, as well as families of the victims.

The governor prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and quick recovery for those injured.
