Nigerian gospel music minister Titilope Baptist-Sanusi, popularly known as Baptista (BaptistaOnMiC), has released her long-awaited album ‘I Won’, unveiling a deeply personal body of work forged through years of pain, waiting and unwavering faith.

Timed to coincide with her birthday and Boxing Day, the album marks what the singer describes as a moment of rebirth and spiritual victory.

Speaking on the project, Baptista said I WON was never a calculated musical plan but a divine process shaped by seven years of personal trials.

“I didn’t write from a place of perfection; I wrote from a place of survival,” she said, noting that each lyric reflects seasons of silent tears, prayers and endurance she once feared she would not survive.

Although recorded between 2023 and 2025, Baptista explained that the emotional roots of the album stretch far deeper, shaped by loss, prolonged uncertainty and financial pressure. According to her, clarity only came when she stopped forcing outcomes and surrendered fully to God.

The gospel minister revealed that some of the album’s most powerful tracks were inspired by painful experiences, including the loss of twins, the disappearance of her sister, Motunrayo Tolulope Baptist, and sustained family and personal challenges.

She said these moments reshaped her prayer life from questioning to trust, a transition audible across the tracklist.

Songs such as F.O.G (Focus on God), Modupe and Joy trace that spiritual evolution, reflecting gratitude, resilience and praise even in uncertainty.

A defining moment in the album’s journey, Baptista recalled, came through the unexpected support of Mr Oluwafemi Aborisade, who she said was divinely led to produce the video for I Won without persuasion or lobbying.

“It reminded me that when God says it is time, He moves people’s hearts effortlessly,” she said.

One of the album’s standout tracks, Yea & Amen, features Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, a collaboration Baptista described as spiritually symbolic, representing alignment, authority and divine timing.

Beyond music, Baptista expressed gratitude to the Ogun State Government for its role in the ongoing search for her missing sister, praising the Attorney-General, Mr Oluwasina Ogungbade (SAN), for personally supporting the family through the process.

Now available on major digital platforms, I WON, Baptista said, is both a testimony and a message of hope. “Pain does not have the final word,” she declared. “If God did it for me, He can do it for them.”
