French actress and singer Brigitte Bardot, popularly known as a symbol of sexual revolution in the 1950s has passed away at the age of 91.
The French cinema icon popularly known as ‘BB’ had retired from acting in 1973. After her retirement, she dedicated her life to animal welfare.
Brigitte was regarded by French President Emmanuel Macron, ‘as a legend of the century’.
“Her films, her voice, her dazzling glory, her initials, her sorrows, her generous passion for animals, her face that became Marianne, Brigitte Bardot embodied a life of freedom. French existence, universal brilliance. She touched us. We mourn a legend of the century,” he stated.
The family of the deceased did not however specify where or when Bardot died.
