Nigeria’s Super Eagles delivered a commanding performance on Tuesday, thrashing Uganda 3–1 to underline their growing authority in the 1XBET Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
The Super Eagles seized early control of the contest and were rewarded in the 28th minute when Paul Onuachu broke the deadlock with a composed finish after expertly controlling a pass from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
Nigeria’s dominance continued into the second half, with midfield general Raphael Onyedika stealing the spotlight by scoring twice in quick succession.

Uganda’s woes were compounded in the 56th minute when Salim Magoola was sent off for a reckless challenge, leaving the hosts to battle the remainder of the match with ten men.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Uganda pulled one back in the 75th minute through Rogers Mato, who capitalised on a defensive lapse to reduce the deficit.
The Super Eagles, however, remained composed in the closing stages, comfortably seeing out the match with assured passing and disciplined defensive organisation.
Head coach Eric Chelle rotated his squad late on, withdrawing key players including Victor Osimhen and Chukwueze to preserve energy ahead of upcoming fixtures.
The Super Eagles won all three matches in Group C and had a maximum of nine points, scoring eight goals and conceding three.
