Why I don’t do road trips in Nigeria – Actress Shaffy Bello

Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has revealed that she avoids road trips in Nigeria, especially journeys longer than the Lagos–Ibadan route, citing personal preference, infrastructure and security concerns.

The movie star made this known during a recent interview with media personality VJ Adams, where she spoke about her transportation choices and how they have affected her social life.

According to Bello, while she enjoys road trips abroad, she prefers air and water transportation when travelling within Nigeria.

“I prefer water and air transportation. I don’t like road trips. I can do road trips abroad but in Nigeria, no, thank you,” she said.

The actress disclosed that her stance on road travel has significantly impacted her social engagements, noting that friends often exclude her from invitations that require long-distance travel by road.

“I can only consider road trips in Nigeria if the person I’m going to see is extremely dear to me,” she explained. “Everybody knows me now. They say, ‘Don’t invite her, she won’t come.’ Once it’s farther than Ibadan, count me out.”
