WAEC Releases November/December 2011 WASSCE Results
The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has released the results of the November/December 2011 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at the national office in Yaba, Lagos.
The results announced by Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, Head of the Nigeria National Office of WAEC show that 404,863, consisting of 225,023 male and 179,840 female candidates sat for the examination.
According to Dr. Uwadiae: “Of the total number of candidates that sat for the examination, 226,658 candidates, representing 60.86 percent obtained credit and above in Mathematics, while 226,188 candidates, representing 59.82 percent obtained credit and above in English Language
“Similarly, 147,012 candidates, representing 37.92 percent obtained credit and above in six subjects; 199,214 candidates, representing 51.39 percent obtained credits and above in five subjects; 246,312 candidates, representing 63.54 percent obtained credits and above in four subjects; whereas 287,918 candidates, representing 74.27 percent obtained credits and above in three subjects. A total of 324,393 candidates, representing 83.68 percent obtained credits and above in two subjects.
“Out of a total of 49 blind candidates who sat the examination, 17 candidates, representing 34.69 percent obtained credits and above in five subjects.”
