Wolverhampton Wanderers finally brought an agonising 19-match winless run to an emphatic end with a ruthless 3-0 demolition of West Ham United at Molineux, breathing fresh life into their Premier League campaign.
Under mounting pressure after weeks of frustration, Wolves produced their most complete performance of the season, overwhelming West Ham with intensity, precision and clinical finishing.
The breakthrough came early when Jhon Arias calmly slotted home after being picked out by Hee-Chan Hwang, sending the home crowd into raptures.
Momentum stayed firmly with Wolves and it was Hwang who doubled the advantage just past the half-hour mark, confidently converting from the penalty spot after a VAR review upheld the referee’s decision.
The goal settled any lingering nerves and exposed West Ham’s defensive fragility.
Wolves pressed relentlessly and were rewarded again before the interval as Matheus Mané finished off a sweeping move to make it 3–0, effectively killing the contest before half-time.
West Ham attempted to respond after the break but found Wolves resolute at the back, with goalkeeper José Sá commanding his area and snuffing out any hope of a comeback.
Despite enjoying more possession in spells, the visitors lacked penetration and were repeatedly frustrated by Wolves’ organisation and work rate.
For Wolves, the victory not only delivered long-awaited relief but also restored belief within the squad and among supporters after a bleak run stretching across 19 matches.
